Zeller, Speak!

24 Apr Zeller, Speak!

Greetings, my friends.

Remember when you left high school and you had to figure out what was next? There were lots of options to think about: work, attend college or trade school, move out of state, join the Peace Corps or VISTA. There were lots of choices. Too often for students with disabilities who are exiting high school, there aren’t a lot of choices.

That’s why I am excited to tell you about a NEW program New Hope of Indiana is starting in August 2018!

Our new program is specifically designed to offer those students exiting high school, another choice in the adult service world. In most cases students have been attending school for a full day, five days a week. There is often a lot of concern about how to fill that time. Many families are not interested in a Day Services Program based in a facility. They have a different vision for their child. In response to these concerns, New Hope will be offering a full day program based in the community!

There will be a lot of fun and a lot of learning in this program. People will learn how to access their community, plan activities, gain more independence, build friendships and more. The program will operate 8:30 – 4 PM, five days a week.

I sure hope I get to go with them once in a while!!
