29 Jan Zeller, Speak!
Greetings friends!
I am happy to tell you a second AIM (Achieving Inclusion and Meaning) group has begun!
A second group means a second staff person and that second staff person is Lashawnda Wright! Lashawnda reported a great first day! A tour of the Indy Humane Society was quite a success. A new volunteer effort was also identified. Soon AIM participants will be helping get volunteer packets ready for new volunteers at the Indy Humane Society. The new group has a variety of new adventures lined up: a library tour, Newfield’s, NCAA Hall of Champions and many more. Have fun, AIM members!
Also, I got to spend some time with Oreo yesterday. Oreo is also from Canine Companions for Independence and serves as a facility dog at Castleton Day Services. Her handler, DG says Oreo is a natural for her job. She enjoys visiting with people and showing off some of her skills, like picking things up from the floor, opening cabinets and turning lights off and on. Oreo is busy making friends and learning who wants to throw a ball for her, who wants to snuggle and who just wants her to sit next to them.
Oreo, we are glad you are part of New Hope! And if you have any questions, just call me.
Zeller
