Volunteer Highlights: Angela Heitman

24 Apr Volunteer Highlights: Angela Heitman

At the New Hope of Indiana Open House in September 2017, Angela Heitman came with several of her co-workers from Numotion, a durable medical equipment supplier and NHI partner, to see the all of the changes from the remodel at the NHI main office. While taking a tour at the open house, something just clicked for Angela and she knew she wanted to volunteer at New Hope. She has volunteered throughout her life and New Hope is a good fit given her connection through Numotion.

Since November of 2017, Angela has been involved in a lot of activities and is willing to do anything requested or needed, including filing, copying, organizing t-shirts, helping with the 40th anniversary memorabilia boards, and so much more. She occasionally works with an individual in day services who is working on her memoirs. Angela comes during her lunch hour which she feels is a nice break from her work responsibilities. Her favorite activity has been helping out at New Hope’s 40th Birthday Party in March. She recruited several co-workers to assist with the party activities in Day Services and they all enjoyed it, even taking a group shot at the selfie station!

When asked what keeps her coming back, Angela talked about the wonderful people at New Hope. She wants to and is making an impact on the individuals and families served by New Hope. She hopes to find more opportunities for her co-workers to become involved in the future. Thank you, Angela, for your compassionate heart and the time you give to New Hope of Indiana.
