Volunteer Groups Help at New Hope Homes

27 Jun Volunteer Groups Help at New Hope Homes

Over the past few months, New Hope of Indiana has been honored to welcome volunteer groups to help with outdoor beautification at a few of our 46 residential homes. These volunteer groups have helped us to ensure that the individuals we serve have beautiful outdoor spaces to enjoy this summer.

Nearly 20 volunteers from Liberty Mutual came out to assist with outdoor projects at our residential homes in May. On the morning of the event, all of the volunteers came to New Hope’s Payne Rd. location and were given an introduction to New Hope as well as a tour of our facility. The group then split up into 3 smaller groups and were sent to 3 of our residential homes to complete projects.

At one of the homes, volunteers carried 100 50-lbs sandbags to the back of one of our Supported Living Homes and filled a large sandbox for the residents to enjoy. They also spruced up the landscaping by pulling weeds. At a different home, volunteers pulled weeds from flower beds, removed vines growing on the outside of the home and weeded raised garden beds in the backyard. Finally, at another home, volunteers began the process of staining a very large fence that surrounds the home’s backyard.

We appreciate all the hard work that Liberty Mutual associates put into their projects and were so grateful to be a part of the Serve with Liberty initiative.

Last week, New Hope participated in United Way of Central Indiana’s Go All In Day. During this event, volunteers went to the same home that Liberty Mutual volunteers were at and continued to work on staining its large backyard fence. We appreciate United Way for setting up this day of giving back and want to thank the amazing volunteers who came out to help!
