17 Aug Service Spotlight: Kelsie Winters
This month, Kelsie Winters is celebrating her 2-year service anniversary at New Hope of Indiana as Executive Assistant to the CEO, but it’s really the rest of New Hope that’s celebrating, because we are lucky to have Kelsie! In her role as Executive Assistant, Kelsie is responsible for supporting the work of the CEO, the Board of Directors and the leadership team all while acting as an ambassador for New Hope’s mission. Her job description might seem vague to some, but that’s because every day is different and requires flexibility to support a large team with a variety of projects.
While most of our associates, and likely many of members of our community, have heard Kelsie’s name or even received an email from her, much of her work is behind the scenes. So this month, we wanted to share a little more about her.
After growing up in a small, Southern Indiana town, Kelsie has lived in many cities including living on the East Coast, the West Coast and the Gulf Coast all in one year! She describes herself as adventurous, helpful and loyal and values providing hope, giving selflessly, spreading kindness, and leading with love. Kelsie came to New Hope in 2018 with a degree from IU in Public and Nonprofit Management and experience as an administrative assistant in the nonprofit and legal fields. Her expertise and passion for serving others made New Hope a great fit for Kelsie.
Outside of work, Kelsie is very close with her family. She grew up in a blended family with a large extended family, so there are many relatives at holiday gatherings! One of her favorite family traditions is getting the whole extended family together for a beach vacation every couple of years to relax and reconnect. At home, she and her husband enjoy spending time with their two Great Danes, Bella and Cane, and Graber, their cat. They enjoy traveling together and hope to visit Ireland/Scotland after COVID is under control. They also enjoying spending time in nature. Kelsie will even tell you that her dream job is to be a conservation officer out west in Montana or Colorado, and she hopes to visit every National Park in her lifetime.
At work, Kelsie values giving back to others and is proud to work for a mission-focused organization like New Hope. We are so glad to have her on #TeamNewHope!
