Service Spotlight: Andrea Paille

15 Jul Service Spotlight: Andrea Paille

For several months, New Hope thought about how best to transform our training programs to both meet the State’s requirements and grow our associates to meet their potential. We created a new position to facilitate a meaningful learning program for all associates with the title of Learning and Development Specialist, and earlier this year, we welcomed Andrea Paille to our team to fill this new role.

Andrea comes to New Hope with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree and license in Clinical and Humanistic Psychology. She is passionate about serving others and helping them grow through personal and professional development opportunities. For over a decade, Andrea worked for a nonprofit in Boston, MA seeking to reunify and/or stabilize at risk children in the home with their families. This work eventually brought her to Indianapolis where she served as a leadership coach for the organization’s Indiana team, designing training and providing one to one coaching for their leadership team. At New Hope, Andrea will use that valuable experience in her role as Learning and Development Specialist to facilitate new hire orientation, monthly training for supervisors, biannual training for all associates and additional development opportunities throughout the year. She is excited to work for a mission-focused organization where her work feels valuable at the end of the day, and New Hope is excited to add her expertise to our Human Resources team.

Outside of work, Andrea is an avid photographer, especially enjoying capturing abandoned structures and outdoor landscapes. She enjoys hiking and visiting her family in Michigan, and she never travels without her camera in tow. She also enjoys exploring her family’s genealogy, and, in fact, is creating a book with her father to record her family’s stories and history. We wanted to get to know Andrea a little better so we asked her some get-to-know-you questions (just like she does with our new associates!).

Q: Who is someone that you greatly admire?
A: William Dement, the “father of sleep medicine”. He passed away recently, but I studied his theories on sleep deprivation and wrote a couple of research papers on the subject.

Q: What is your favorite movie and who is your favorite actor?
A: The Wizard of Oz is my all-time favorite! My home office is full of memorabilia from the movie! Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor.

Q: What are you reading right now?
A: I’ve been reading a lot of research and articles on the topic of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. I also love Marshall Goldsmith and any of his books.

Q: What’s your favorite family tradition?
A: I love spending time at our family cabin in Boyne City or watching UofM football together.

Q: What’s something that made you smile recently?
A: I’m a pretty sentimental person and I laugh a lot anyway, but one of my coworkers recently brought donuts to the office – they definitely made me smile!

Q: What’s something that you’d like to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?
A: I’d love to visit Ireland and Scotland!

We’re excited to have Andrea as part of #TeamNewHope and can’t wait to see the impact she makes on our teams in her time at New Hope. Welcome, Andrea!
