Rebecca Ofengender

It is with sadness that New Hope announces the passing of Rebecca “Reb” Ofengender. Rebecca passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, at the age of 70. At the time of her passing, Rebecca was receiving comfort care from in-home hospice and around-the-clock care from her dedicated support team at Jacob’s Home.

Rebecca joined the New Hope family in 2011, residing at Jacob’s Home with her beloved housemates from the very beginning. Rebecca was the lady of Jacob’s Home and knew how to keep her housemates in line. She was a big help around the house and would advocate for herself. Rebecca enjoyed “girls day/girls trips,” which often included manicures and pedicures. Among Rebecca’s favorite things were Elvis, bingo, and vacations! Rebecca had a very close relationship with her family and adored her “babies,” which included an ever-growing list of nieces and nephews. She was easy to talk to and a good friend to all who knew her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Rebecca’s family, housemates, staff and all who called Rebecca a friend.
