Remembering Our Friends

25 Jan Remembering Our Friends

Michael McCormick
6/30/1965 – 12/8/2021

It is with great sadness that New Hope announces the passing of Michael McCormick on December 8th. Michael was served by New Hope for over 16 years! Michael spent many years attending New Hope’s Day Services at Payne Road where he enjoyed socializing with everyone. At his home in our Supported Living Program, Michael enjoyed making tea and coffee, visiting with his mom and brothers, playing Connect Four, working on puzzles, listening to music and socializing with his housemates.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s family, caregivers, Gifford and Day Services individuals, staff and all who called Michael a friend.

Drew Kogan
7/9/1958 – 1/12/2022

Drew Kogan was a beloved volunteer at New Hope and brought joy and happiness to those we serve. One of his favorite activities was judging the Halloween Costume Contest at the annual Fall Festival. He also shared his love of art through his many donations of craft and fabric supplies to New Hope. Thanks to Drew, the individuals served by New Hope had an outlet to express themselves and create many wonderful pieces of art. Drew loved New Hope’s Silver Cup Celebration. As a volunteer on the planning committee, he was the first to participate in a “menu tasting” and brought creative ideas to ensure the event was fun, unique and engaging.

Drew will be greatly missed by many at New Hope of Indiana. View his obituary here.
