Shandi Vance

It has been a pleasure to have had Shandi Vance in our Frederic Group Home all these years. She moved in 5/2002 and was a delight from Day One! Shandi enjoyed singing and dancing in her room to Disney musicals and she had no shame in sharing her skills with the entire home. Shandi also loved to shop, with a particular affinity to headbands and sunglasses. We were so blessed to have Shandi with us for so long, and she left us too quickly. She will be missed.

Marcia Carithers

From the beginning, Marcia Carithers was a beloved member of the New Hope family. Marcia moved into New Hope six months after the facility opened and remained with us for the next 42 years! For many of those years, Marcia lived independently in her own apartment where she spent much of her time doing puzzles, working on her embroidery, writing poetry (see one of her poems below), playing her piano and planning social events for others living nearby. Marcia also had a very close relationship with the Lord and attended services at Faith Church and weekly Bible Study at College Park. Marcia will be missed by all who knew her!
