At New Hope, we offer a comprehensive suite of services to individuals with disabilities in central Indiana. We want our community to see all the amazing services we have available. Therefore, we will be highlighting our programs in our monthly e-newsletter, The Heartbeat. This month, we are spotlighting our vocational services program.

For individuals with disabilities, securing sustainable employment can be challenging. Finding the right position, that fits the individual’s unique skill set, while overcoming employer misperceptions of employing someone with a disability can be overwhelming.

To help overcome these challenges, New Hope of Indiana offers vocational services to individuals in central Indiana who need assistance in achieving sustained, meaningful and long-term employment. Starting in 2015, this program has helped hundreds of individuals find a job.

New Hope’s Employment Consultants use a person-centered approach to learn the participant’s skills and interests, and together, they determine the type of job that would be the best fit. Next, the search for employment begins. Resumes are developed, interview skills are built, job goals – which reflect the specific needs and interests of the individual – are established and applications are submitted. Upon job placement, the Employment Consultants provide support to ensure the participant realizes sustained and long-term success in the workplace.
