Our Commitment
Social Justice
New Hope of Indiana has always supported social justice. Historically, our focus has been on justice for individuals with disabilities. However, we understand that social justice is more than that, and we support organizations seeking a more just society. We acknowledge that diversity, equity and inclusion must be intentional objectives in our organization.
New Hope created the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (DEI) in 2020 and is designed to bring a variety of voices to the conversation of systemic racism. The Advisory Committee is comprised of associates from different backgrounds, departments, and seniority levels within New Hope. This committee is focused on listening to the diverse voices of our associates to identify the areas in which we are falling short in our commitment to addressing racial injustice. The Committee meets regularly and makes recommendations that support the intentional application of diversity, equity and inclusion with associates at all levels of the organization and with the individuals we serve.

Advocacy
New Hope of Indiana is committed to being advocates for a compassionate and just society. We will support and protect the dignity and rights of individuals served and ensure the individual rights are not infringed upon. New Hope’s Bill of Rights for individuals served seeks to specify each right and ensure each individual served and/or their legal representative has been informed and acknowledged of those rights. (A visual or audio version is also available upon request.)
New Hope of Indiana is a proud member of INARF, a membership organization committed to strengthening the system of services and supports for Hoosiers with disabilities. Through our partnership with INARF and other organizations including Self-Advocates of Indiana, New Hope strives to advocate for those we serve in many ways including participating on the 1102 Taskforce in 2018. Learn more about how you can influence policy for individuals with disabilities on INARF’s website.
Quality Assurance
We believe that providing high quality services that meet the unique needs of the people we support is an everyday commitment. To accomplish this, we uphold the dual philosophies of a person-centered approach to services and continuous quality improvement. Our comprehensive quality assurance program was developed with these beliefs at the heart of our organization. Specifically, we accomplish this by monitoring service delivery performance on a daily basis, by utilizing data-driven tactics to guide improvement efforts, by offering multiple opportunities to obtain input from the persons we serve, their families, and other stakeholders, and finally, by implementing creative problem-solving to foster service excellence and enhance efficiency.
Training and Professional Development
All associates must successfully complete the NHI training program prior to working with any individuals. Through a blend of classroom, e-learning and hands-on training, every New Hope associate completes a robust, competency-based training curriculum. Through an online learning portal and semiannual group training sessions, associates complete ongoing training and other professional development needed to effectively provide holistic, person-centered services.
Resources
Our services provide comprehensive support to the individuals we serve, however, we realize there are many other resources available that can be beneficial to families looking for assistance. Check out our list of additional community resources that may be helpful.
