New Hope’s June Volunteers

New Hope of Indiana is fortunate to have such incredible volunteers to help us fulfill our mission of ensuring that individuals with disabilities thrive. Recently, we have welcomed several groups and individual volunteers whose efforts have made a huge impact.

At the beginning of June, friends from First Financial Bank as well as a few individual volunteers came and helped us spruce up two of our residential homes. They trimmed a large pine tree in the yard, cleaned up branches, spread mulch and washed one of our handicap accessible vans.

Our friends from the Kiwanis Club of Northwest Indianapolis hosted their monthly bingo night for the individuals we serve in June as well. During these events, bingo winners receive fun prizes and there is a raffle for a ‘special’ prize at the end of the night. Kiwanis Bingo nights are always full of fun and laughter!

On June 21st, New Hope participated in United Way of Central Indiana’s Go All In Day. During this day of service, UWCI organizes hundreds of volunteers to help central Indiana nonprofits. Volunteers from Blue & Co spent the day with us helping to paint sheds and clean bathrooms at one of our residential homes.

In addition to volunteer groups, New Hope also benefits from the support of individual volunteers. In June, many individual volunteers helped us to assemble centerpieces and cut informational flyers for the upcoming Silver Cup Celebration. Additionally, Sylvia from Canine Companions brought her dog Andre to Day Services to hang out with the individuals we serve. Volunteers Tim and Maureen did arts and crafts with the individuals we serve, and Kathe Rae worked with the Day Services Garden Club. Additionally, many individual people volunteered their time to support New Hope’s Camp Catalyst.

We are so appreciative of our dedicated volunteers. If you would like to join them in donating your time in support of individuals with disabilities, click here to learn more.
