2019 Aktion Club Food Drive

Kiwanis Aktion Clubs are important opportunities for adults with disabilities to gain leadership skills and practice community-based philanthropy. In a typical year, New Hope’s Kiwanis Aktion Club raises a few hundred dollars and collects some in-kind gifts for local nonprofits, but what members cherish more than anything is the sense of camaraderie and the opportunity to be a leader in our community. 2020 has been anything but typical though. This year, our dedicated Aktion Club Board of Directors has been working hard to keep everyone at New Hope in good spirits and to give back to the community.

This November, the Aktion Club would like to invite our New Hope community to join them in a food drive to benefit our friends at Second Helpings. Aktion club is excited to help fight hunger in our community. Donations from Second Helpings’ high priority list can be dropped off at New Hope’s Payne Road location now through November 30, 2020. High priority items include: Chili Powder, Coriander, Plum Sauce, Cumin, Oregano, Curry Powder, Salt, Cooking Oil (all), Soy Sauce, Fish Sauce, Taco Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Tumeric, Granulated Onion, Pasta, Hoisin Sauce, Hygiene Products, and/or Italian Seasoning.
