25 Jul New Hope Welcomes New Board Members
On July 1st, New Hope welcomed three new board members –Sheri Alexander, Daryl Daugherty and Jennifer Northern. They will each serve a 3-year term on our board of directors. They all know New Hope well, and we are thrilled to welcome them to our board.
Sheri Alexander
Sheri Alexander served as Chief Strategy Officer of Gregory & Appel Insurance until she retired in 2022. She has 42 years of experience in employee benefits, brokerage and consulting. Prior to joining Gregory & Appel in 2005, Sheri spent 15 years with Marsh & McLennan/Mercer and nearly 10 years with Gardner & White.
Sheri was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s list of “Who’s Who in Healthcare & Benefits” in 2011, was named a Woman of Influence in 2012 for her professional and civic accomplishments and was recognized in 2016 by Employee Benefit Adviser magazine as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Benefit Advising in the United States.
Sheri serves on the Cancer Support Community of Indiana Board, and on the Benefit Advisors Network Advisory Board. Sheri has served on New Hope’s Silver Cup Committee for the past three years.
Daryl Daugherty
Dr. Daryl Daugherty is a retired gastroenterologist in Indianapolis and was formerly affiliated with Northside Gastroenterology and St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Dr. Daugherty is a long-time friend of New Hope, having volunteered with us for many years. He has attended holiday and dance parties in Day Services, engaging and having fun with individuals served by New Hope. During the COVID shutdown, Dr. Daugherty wanted to ensure individuals served by New Hope could stay connected with each other by leading a weekly Bible study. Many individuals served at New Hope consider Dr. Daugherty a good friend and are always thrilled to see him.
Dr. Daugherty has also served on the New Hope Quality Assurance Committee for the past year.
Jennifer Northern
Jennifer Northern has been the Director of Provider Communications at Ascension Health since July 2015. Prior to joining Ascension Health in 2004, Jennifer was the Executive Director of Media Relations at Avatar Communications Group for five years and a Newspaper Editor at The Flyer Group for seven years. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from IUPUI.
Jen has volunteered with many organizations including United Way of Central Indiana, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, Sheltering Wings Center – Women, and The PEERS Project of Indiana, Inc. Jen has served on New Hope’s Marketing and Silver Cup Committees for the past several years.
At the end of June, three board members concluded their terms. We would like to thank Liz Hoover, Loraine Brown and Jen Scroggins for their years of service and support to New Hope and those we serve. Additionally, Sr. Francine Brown completed her third and final term on the board in June and is now an Emeritus member on our board of directors. We truly appreciate all of you and want to thank you for being a part of #TeamNewHope.
