Individuals served at New Hope of Indiana have the opportunity to explore their talents and passions of singing through the NHI choir. The choir is led by day services Team Leaders Blessing Ugwuanyi and Musulyn Travers. Blessing and Musulyn started the choir because they saw a need for individuals at day services to showcase their singing and it has blossomed from there. The first official show was for New Hope’s 40^th anniversary, which was featured in the IndyStar!

The choir continues to have opportunities to showcase their talents inside and outside of New Hope events. They have had the opportunity to sing at Silver Cup, Indianapolis Airport Art Show and most recently, the National Anthem at the April 16, 2025 Indianapolis Indians game. The singers practiced for weeks beforehand and although nervous, led the stadium from the field in a beautiful tribute to our country. We are grateful to the Indianapolis Indians for this once in a lifetime opportunity. New Hope continues to provide opportunities’ for individuals with disabilities to shine, and the choir is just one of the powerful ways that they can showcase their incredible talents.
