25 Sep New Hope is Making Capital Improvements
New Hope is EXPANDING!!! We are excited to announce new room additions which have been made to many of our Supported Living Program homes. Most recently, we added a new bathroom and bedroom to our Grandview II home as well as a new bedroom to our Parker II and Brendon Park homes.
Two of these additions are extra special to New Hope as they are not just room additions. New Hope was able to provide these rooms to brand new residents who are now part of the New Hope family. These additions have allowed us to create an environment of independence and community for our newest residents. They will be able to develop and maintain the skills they need to be successful in their homes and communities. Thank you to each and every person who has helped with these projects!!
These additions are just the tip of the iceberg for New Hope. We recently hired a project management and strategic planning consultant to look critically at every New Hope property to assess the current condition of assets and to create a strategic plan for capital investment. After this assessment, there are many improvements we would like to make to our supported living homes and group homes, but we can’t do them alone. Earlier this year, New Hope applied for an Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant through PNC Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Pittsburgh. This capital investment grant would allow New Hope to reallocate capital funds to other projects and increase our overall capacity for capital improvements. In December, we will be notified whether we’ve received this grant which would help us continue to impact the lives of our residents. Keep your fingers crossed, and watch for an update in December.
