New Hope Celebrates the Indy 500

30 May New Hope Celebrates the Indy 500

This May, there are many celebrations happening around the Indy 500!

On Thursday, May 11, New Hope held its annual Indy 500 Princess Party in Day Services. Four 500 Festival princesses and the Indy 500 Pace Car came to New Hope to celebrate. We took turns taking rides around the parking lot and celebrating the race. It was a beautiful day to be outside. After a break for lunch, we finished the day with a dance party, cookies and pictures. It was a fun way to kick off the Month of May in Indianapolis.

The Month of May celebration continued with the return of Friends of the Fox. Nearly 80 guests visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway May 18-21. Individuals served by New Hope and their caregivers were treated to breakfast at McDonalds by long-time New Hope supporter Randy Shields. From there, everyone went to the track where they toured the museum, the garages, and watched drivers qualify for the race. A special thanks to Bill Ray and the Friends of the Fox Foundation for organizing this outing. They provide parking, tickets and museum passes for New Hope. Without their support, this event would not be possible.

On Saturday May 27th, nearly 40 New Hope individuals and their caregivers attended the 500 Festival Parade in downtown Indianapolis. Our partners at the 500 Festival provided tickets to an accessible area for New Hope guests so they could watch the parade. Everyone had an amazing time and enjoyed the outing.
