Indianapolis is a unique place to be in the month of May. The Indianapolis 500 brings people from around the globe to our city to celebrate the biggest spectacle in racing. New Hope of Indiana gives individuals that we serve the opportunity to celebrate with the rest of the community by coordinating different events.

On Tuesday, May 6^th, New Hope hosted its annual Indy 500 Princess Party and Parade. John Gause, JJ Nelson and Travis Brown brought their pace trucks to the Payne Road building and the individuals at AIM and Day Services had the opportunity to take a ride. Along with the trucks, three of the 500 festival princesses joined the festivities. New Hope would like to thank John, JJ and Travis for providing the rides and the 500 princesses for riding along.

The second event that New Hope participated in was Friends of the Fox. Friends of the Fox was started by racecar driver, Stan Fox, as a way to give individuals with disabilities an opportunity to be involved in the excitement of May. For four days, individuals and associates are able to have an experience unlike any other. The day starts with breakfast at McDonalds, followed by a walkthrough of gasoline alley, a tour of the museum and finally the opportunity to watch practice. This year some of our individuals even had the chance to meet the 109^th Indy 500 champion, Alex Palou! New Hope is grateful to the 16^th Street McDonald’s staff for providing breakfast and for Bill Ray and Ron Kucer for continuing Friends of the Fox even after Stan passed.

The 500 Festival provided New Hope with 35 tickets to the 500 Parade on May 24^th. This included a police escort for our individuals that are in wheelchairs. This day is special, and we are grateful for the festival for continuing to allow our clients the opportunity to participate.

There’s something truly magical about Indianapolis in May—the energy, the traditions, the sense of community. At New Hope of Indiana, we’re proud to make sure the individuals we serve don’t just witness it, but feel a part of it. Every year, we celebrate this special season together, creating memories that last a lifetime.
