Day Programming

Day Programming

Friendships, joy and socialization are a few ways participants in our day program describe their experience. Designed to allow individuals to make their own decisions on how they spend their day, this program empowers adults with disabilities to participate in community outings, develop new interests and cultivate meaningful relationships. Our associates assist individuals in their areas of interest to help them thrive.

What We Offer

Our day program offers an engaging experience every weekday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants come to New Hope’s Payne Road location and spend the day doing what they love to do with their friends.

Our day program also offers flexibility. Individuals can choose to build their day to be as busy or relaxed as they like – it’s completely up to them! Our team puts the needs of the individuals we serve first so they can live their best lives.

While at our day program, there are many activities in which the individuals we serve can participate! Our options include:

  • Crafts, games, therapeutic iPads, computers, puzzles & more
  • Art Therapy class on Tuesdays and Thursdays led by a Certified Art Therapist
  • Weekly games of bingo
  • Karaoke
  • Cooking classes
  • Book Club
  • Gardening Club
  • Kiwanis Aktion Club Learn more: https://www.aktionclub.org/
  • Outdoor games and picnic tables
  • Sensory room
  • Holiday celebrations (complete with dance parties- a New Hope favorite!)
  • Community outings to local parks, movie theaters and more!

Our Experience

Our day program has been in operation since 2008 and takes a person-centered approach to ensure we are supporting each individual we serve in the best way possible. Our staff takes the time to get to know each individual to determine how they can best support them. Additionally, organization-wide, New Hope boasts a dedicated team where 30% of our associates have been employed with us for over 10 years and over 50% have more than a decade of total experience.

Our Culture

“We are in the people business.” This phrase encapsulates our commitment to creating a caring and inclusive culture where every individual, regardless of ability, is celebrated. The individuals we serve are at the heart of what we do, and our core values—Service, Reverence, Integrity, Inclusivity, Wisdom, Creativity, and Dedication—guide our actions every day.
