This September, New Hope proudly celebrated Kimberly Cranfill’s one-year anniversary as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Family Community Services (FCS) program.

Kim’s path to New Hope was anything but typical. Her connection began through her son, who participates in the AIM program. During a meeting with his manager, the idea was suggested that Kim consider a DSP role and the rest, as Kim describes, was “serendipitous.” She knew that New Hope would be a great place to work because she had seen the value it provided in her son’s life.

In her FCS role, Kim spends two days a week teaching her son valuable life skills. Everything from grocery shopping and meal planning to using a rewards system. One of their favorite activities is thrifting together at Goodwill, a passion Kim and her son happily share. With a degree in design from the University of Kentucky, Kim also puts her creativity to use at home, especially when organizing the Disney treasures her son collects on their thrift store adventures.

Outside of her work and family life, Kim loves to travel. This past summer, she and her family spent time in Iceland, which she describes as one of the most incredible trips she’s ever experienced.

Kim also brings an impressive professional background to New Hope. For more than a decade, she was the top seller of children’s clothing on eBay. Later, she spent 11 years as the owner and operator of Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix, a business that expanded into seven states, 51 cities, and even became the official mix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Kim’s journey reflects not only her versatility but also the wide range of experiences and perspectives that enrich the New Hope community. We are grateful for her dedication and excited to celebrate her one-year milestone. Congratulations, Kim!
