Joann Crumpton has been part of the New Hope family for the past 13 years, serving as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). What began as a part-time, temporary position quickly grew into a meaningful and lasting career dedicated to supporting individuals served by New Hope.

When asked about her most impactful experience, Joann shares, “The most impactful experience I have had while employed at New Hope is the opportunity to work with such wonderful individuals.” Rather than pointing to one standout moment, Joann treasures the everyday experiences she has while at work. The ones that stand out are, taking walks in the park, attending the fair and simply spending quality time with the individuals she supports.

Joann goes above and beyond to help create memorable experiences. She assists one of the residents at Grandview 2 with getting dressed up for special events like galas, outings to Beef & Boards and even her own dance performances.

The impact of Joann’s career extends beyond New Hope. The skills she has gained as a DSP have also shaped Joann’s personal life. They have allowed her to become a caregiver for her mother.  Outside of caregiving, Joann enjoys spending time with friends, going to the movies and shopping.
