Culture Corner: Debbie West, Receptionist and Office Assistant
For the past 11 years, Debbie West affectionately known as “Momma Deb”, has been a welcoming presence at New Hope. She first joined the Community Outreach program, coordinating with home-based therapists and case managers to support families across our community. When New Hope’s DCS contract concluded, Momma Deb found her perfect fit at the front desk, where her welcoming spirit shines every day.
Former Director of Community Outreach, Kathy Ballard, knew Debbie belonged at New Hope from the moment they met. During Debbie’s interview, Kathy’s therapy dog, Zeller, rested his head on Debbie’s lap and refused to move. She said that Kathy later told her that “That’s when I knew you were a keeper,”
Debbie loves spending time with the individuals New Hope serves, sharing that “they are such happy people.” She often notes that it’s not just those receiving services who make this place special, the associates add to the joy that is felt every day.
