Community Partners and Volunteers Bring Joy to NHI

12 Dec Community Partners and Volunteers Bring Joy to NHI

New Hope of Indiana was fortunate to have great community partners and volunteers to assist us in making the holiday season special for the individuals we support.

The Columbia Club hosted an art therapy class at their downtown Indianapolis location where their Civic Leadership group joined New Hope’s Achieving Inclusion and Meaning (AIM) group to learn how art therapy can provide a creative way for individuals to express themselves. Led by New Hope Art Therapist Lyndi Grubb, Columbia Club members partnered with members of AIM to create a painting together. Each individual painting was a segment of the Indianapolis skyline and when lined up sequentially, created the entire city skyline. All in attendance enjoyed getting to know each other and creating a masterpiece together!

Not only did the Columbia Club participate in the art therapy class with the individuals we serve, they also chose New Hope as their 4th quarter philanthropy partner! Throughout this holiday season, they collected bingo prizes for our Day Services weekly games of bingo. We appreciate everything the Columbia Club does for our organization and are so glad to have them as a partner!

On December 15th, New Hope hosted our annual Day Services holiday party. We had over 25 volunteers help wrap gifts, decorate, and participate in the party.  Guests enjoyed a visit from Santa and his elves, who delivered gifts, a dance party, bingo, punch and cookies! Everyone had a great time, and we are grateful for all the wonderful volunteers who helped make this celebration a success!
