Cheese and Thank You is Rolling Forward

01 Jul Cheese and Thank You is Rolling Forward

After what seems like a VERY long time, it’s finally time to welcome our first Food Truck Specialist, Tim Dunkel!

Tim comes to New Hope with a background in elementary school special education and applied behavior analysis (ABA). He has experience working with children and young adults with disabilities as well as restaurant experience, making him a great fit for Cheese and Thank You! Tim is originally from Fort Branch, Indiana near Evansville, and he graduated from Wabash College in 2015. His professional experience and passion for serving youth with disabilities drove Tim to apply for a Supported Employment position with New Hope. When he came for his interview, Kathy Ballard, Director of Community Outreach and Day Services, immediately thought that he needed to learn about the food truck program. Lucky for us, Tim started at New Hope in mid-June and will be launching the food truck program, Cheese and Thank You, in July.

Outside of New Hope, Tim enjoys playing video games and spending time at home with his cat, Loretta. He also volunteers his time to help run a community garden in Fountain Square. He’s super excited to get to work serving good people and good food – especially some buffalo chicken mac-n-cheese! He can’t wait to see the growth of the individuals served and to be out in the Indianapolis community, meeting new people every day.

Join Tim and the rest of us here at New Hope on July 30th for a special launch event at our Payne Road location from 11:30-1 and watch for more information about our October 3rd fundraising event to support Cheese and Thank You!
