27 Mar Cheese and Thank You is Back!
We have some exciting news! New Hope’s Cheese and Thank You food truck is BACK and will be up and running later this spring.
This New Hope program is the only mission-driven food truck in the Midwest in which food is prepared, served, and marketed by young adults with disabilities. Through this program, Cheese and Thank You participants learn skills in food preparation and serving, sales, customer service and business practices. The Cheese and Thank You food truck operates as a program of New Hope of Indiana and is, therefore, a non-for-profit program. All proceeds from food sales and donations go directly back into growing Cheese and Thank You and other New Hope programs. To learn more about the food truck program, please follow this link.
The Cheese and Thank You program will be run by Tricia Wernimont, our new Food Truck Specialist. She will serve as a mentor to the three individuals who will be working on the truck. The truck will be in operation weekly Monday through Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays, the Cheese and Thank You team will be visiting and volunteering at places in the community that are related to the foodservice industry including Meals on Wheels, Gleaners Food Bank, and Second Helpings. Tricia and the three individuals who will be working the truck are eager to get started.
