31 Oct Cheese and Thank You Closes for Winter After a Successful Second Season
After a very successful second year of operation, the Cheese and Thank You food truck has closed for the winter. During their time on the food truck, participants were able to build many skills and gain valuable on-the-job experience.
When asked about her experience working on the food truck this year, LaDiamond Warren had this to say, “My favorite part about working on the food truck was adding toppings to the mac-n-cheese we served. I also liked working with my co-workers and meeting different customers. After I am done working on the food truck, I want to get a job.”
In addition to providing valuable experience to participants, the truck also had its most successful season yet! From May through October of 2023, Cheese and Thank You served 1,621 meals and made 65 community visits. Over 970 pounds of mac-and-cheese was prepared and barbeque pork was the most popular topping. Our mac-n-cheese put a smile on the faces of many this year!
