12 Apr - Volunteer Appreciation at New Hope

4 Benefits of Donating to Local Charities

22 Feb - Four Benefits of Donating to Local Charities

By Jenny Pfeil, Director of Development After working in the development space for over a decade, I’ve learned that when it comes to fundraising, charitable giving rewards both the donor and the nonprofit they choose to support. Whether you donate your time, talent or treasure, there are so many benefits of giving back to local organizations. For donors who choose to support New Hope of Indiana, this isn’t any different. Impact the Mission First and foremost, your donation makes a direct and meaningful impact on the individuals we serve. For me, this is the biggest benefit for both New Hope and for our...

28 Sep - Charitable Sponsors are an Asset to the Community

As New Hope prepares for the fourth annual Silver Cup Celebration this week, we are feeling especially grateful for our many corporate sponsors and community partners who have made this year's event possible. At the very first Silver Cup Celebration, the event emcee, Anne Marie Tiernon, asked guests to take a moment to look at the list of sponsors and to take note, because we as consumers have a choice to make. Every time we go to the store, buy a car, open a bank account, repair our home or make any other buying decision, we are choosing how to...

28 Jun - Celebrating Independence

by Jenny Pfeil, Director of Development When you think of the 4th of July holiday, what images come to mind? Red, white and blue bunting on a porch? Cookouts, fireworks and time with friends and family? Traveling and relaxation? For me, it’s all about celebrating independence. Our country, our independence and our freedom are ever evolving. We have all seen first-hand that there is work to do in ensuring that every citizen enjoys the freedoms our forefathers envisioned. Freedom and independence, like people, come in many unique and diverse forms. And there are many populations who experience barriers to...

13 Dec - Thanks to American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation

This fall, New Hope was proud to accept a grant of $2,500 from the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation. It wasn't a typical grant, though, and we never asked for the money. In fact, it was a New Hope mother who believes in our mission that wanted to give back to us. Eldonna Merritt, the mother of one of the individuals we serve, saw an email from her insurance company, American Family Insurance, inviting her to nominate a deserving nonprofit for their Dreams Foundation Community of Dreamers grant program.
