17 Jun - Taking on a Challenge – Together

It is our vision to serve "people of all ages to build a more inclusive community where all are welcomed, valued and living their best life." We are proud to be able to demonstrate that type of service through our AIM program. Seeking to achieve inclusion and meaning in the lives of program participants, AIM offers opportunities for clients to volunteer in their community, spend time learning how to navigate the social norms of our society, develop relationships with their peers and with others in the community and enjoy everything that the Indianapolis community has to offer them. 28 May - A Note from Allison: Cheese and Thank You is Official!

Happy Summer! Are you ready for some mac and cheese? I know I am! Two very exciting things happened last week in the life of Cheese and Thank You, New Hope’s food truck: 1) the food truck and the kitchen where we will be preparing the food passed inspection by the Marion County Health Department, and 2) New Hope hired the food truck coordinator who will be responsible for all things food truck! A special thanks to Kathy Ballard, Director of Community Outreach Department, who has been working to get the food truck up and running. There have been more steps...

28 May - Another Great May in Indy

We are so glad to be a part of the Indianapolis community, especially this time of the year. For over twenty years, New Hope clients have been able to take part in the Indy 500 festivities through another initiative, Friends of the Fox. Started by Indy car driver Stan Fox and race car driver Jack Kerwin after sustaining traumatic brain injuries while racing, Friends of the Fox seeks to give individuals with disabilities the opportunity to participate in the traditions of May in Indy. Today, New Hope volunteers, Bill Ray and Ron Kucer, continue the legacy of Stan Fox and...

30 Apr - New Hope Raises Over $27,000 for Art Therapy

Thanks to all of our friends and partners who attended last week's Silver Cup Celebration and helped us raise over $27,000 to expand and support our Art Therapy Program! The event was a celebration of New Hope's Year of Creativity and featured several of New Hope's most creative individuals. Starting with a performance of New Hope's choir and featuring a beautiful video with some of our artists, a poem written and presented by Robert Hoey and an impressive piano performance from Tom Murray, New Hope's creativity was evident throughout the entire event. Guests were able to shop some one-of-a-kind New...

The committee led by Sarah Stone, New Hope’s Manager of Development, did an exceptional job planning the event. Thank you all! Thanks...

26 Mar - New Hope Presents John Pearson with Partner in Service Award

At New Hope's inaugural Silver Cup Celebration, emcee Anne Marie Tiernon recognized New Hope's event sponsors and reminded the audience that these sponsors are investing in the good of their communities. A great way to decide where to shop is to learn which companies care about the things that are important to each of us. New Hope has been fortunate to have countless partners in the Indianapolis community who have offered their time, talent and treasure to support our mission, and we have been searching for a way to honor them as outstanding corporate and community partners. We are so excited...

26 Mar - Community Resources

In our ever-changing, sometimes instantly-changing, world, it can be hard to know where to look for reliable, current information and resources for our individuals with disabilities. A couple great ways to stay up-to-date on topics and changes in our community are to become involved in community activities, visit websites, and join mailing lists of various agencies within our community. What community activities are available? To start, New Hope is expanding our Transition Services! We are currently taking interviews for a new AIM group based at our Castleton Day Services site. Also, we are actively interviewing for...

25 Feb - Bingo is Back!

For over twenty years, Kiwanis has sponsored a monthly Bingo night for individuals served by New Hope of Indiana. The North Central Kiwanis Club started and coordinated Bingo for most of those years, and New Hope is so appreciative of their dedication. Thankfully, when that club decided to dissolve their chapter, another club, Northwest Indy Kiwanis graciously offered to sponsor Bingo night so that this favorite New Hope monthly activity could continue. This club also has long-time involvement with New Hope and provided an annual cookout for the group home program for many years. Club member...
