28 May - A Note from Allison: Cheese and Thank You is Official!

Happy Summer! Are you ready for some mac and cheese? I know I am! Two very exciting things happened last week in the life of Cheese and Thank You, New Hope’s food truck: 1) the food truck and the kitchen where we will be preparing the food passed inspection by the Marion County Health Department, and 2) New Hope hired the food truck coordinator who will be responsible for all things food truck! A special thanks to Kathy Ballard, Director of Community Outreach Department, who has been working to get the food truck up and running. There have been more steps...

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Because of you we had a great Second Annual Silver Cup Celebration! I certainly appreciate everything everyone did to make this event a success! Thanks to our matching grant, donations, pledges and artwork purchases, over $27,000 will go directly to the art therapy room renovation and programming. A new door will soon be a reality! The committee led by Sarah Stone, New Hope’s Manager of Development, did an exceptional job planning the event. Thank you all! Thanks...

25 Jan - A Note from Allison: Use Your Voter Voice

Happy New Year! I hope 2019 is off to a great start! Things are off to a good start at New Hope! One of my main focuses this time of year is around the Indiana General Assembly. As some of you may know, I spent many years of my career at the Statehouse lobbying on a variety of healthcare-related issues. During my time there, I realized how much can really be done through grassroots efforts. It is no different for the disability community. We have a very important legislative agenda to get passed this year, and we will not be able to do it without support from...

27 Nov - A Note from Allison: Grateful for Those We Serve

We who work at New Hope of Indiana are very lucky! "Why?" you may ask. We have many things for which to be grateful. First, we are so very grateful for the people that we serve. We are grateful for their love, joy and presence. Serving them and being part of their lives is an honor we do not take for granted. We are grateful for their families and loved ones as well. Without their trust and support we would not be able to be of service. We are also grateful for the people that give...

30 Oct - A Note from Allison: Be Kind

It is with a heavy heart that this letter is sent to you. We are all saddened by the past week’s events in Pittsburgh. I was happy to be greeted by a new sign outside our New Hope doors. New Hope is a kind and loving place for the people we serve and the associates who work here. If you want to come visit a place that is hate-free and happy, come see us! I can’t believe October is nearly over. It has been a very busy month - probably the busiest of all months. ...

Happy First Week of Fall! September has been an awesome month at New Hope of Indiana! September 9th-15th was Direct Support Professional (DSP) Appreciation Week! New Hope has over 330 DSPs that do amazing things every week providing love and support to all the individuals they serve each day. We really cannot thank them enough for all that they do, so it is great to have one week dedicated to DSPs. Did you know that 25% of New Hope DSPs have been with us 10 years or more? Our first group started a couple of weeks ago and they are already volunteering and exploring our community!
