What a great year this has been at New Hope of Indiana! It has been full of celebration and commemoration of our 40th Anniversary! In March, we celebrated the actual day of our 40th Anniversary with a huge party where over 300 friends, family and those we serve came to celebrate with us. The Mayor even declared March 13th as New Hope of Indiana Day. In May, we had our first annual Silver Cup Celebration where our supporters donated over $60,000 to help support our newest community-based program. In September, we welcomed our volunteers, donors and community partners to the big...

23 Nov - Give Back this #GivingTuesday!

Did you know that New Hope receives the majority of our funding through Medicaid reimbursement? This means that many of the services we provide to our clients are paid for by the government. However, this funding often leaves a gap between what is paid for by Medicaid and the quality of care that we are committed to providing to our clients. For example, New Hope offers art therapy which is led by a trained, masters-level art therapist in which clients are able to express themselves through many different art mediums like painting, sculpting, tile mosaic and more. Because Medicaid does...

23 Nov - Thankful for 40 Years of Hope

Over the last four decades, New Hope of Indiana has been honored to serve thousands of people throughout Indianapolis and surrounding communities. What began as the dream of a group of mothers to find a safe and nurturing place for their children with cerebral palsy to live and thrive has now grown into a multifaceted organization serving people of all kinds. We are proud to maintain the level of care that those parents went searching for all those years ago across all of our programs and services, and if this year of celebration has made anything clear, it's that this...

29 Aug - A New Hope Tradition

We have had such a great time celebrating our 40th Anniversary this year, and we have especially enjoyed exploring our past. In 1988 in celebration of our 10th anniversary, the staff, clients and families of New Hope got together and completed a series of paintings which still hang in our administrative offices today. We loved this idea of a community art project that might bring our New Hope family together and leave us with a long-lasting gift to add to our proud legacy. After doing a little research, we found out that the company which facilitated those original paintings as...

16 Apr - Service Spotlight: Lynn Feldman

I came to New Hope in 1978 as an Occupational Therapist right out of college. When I was in OT school, we kept hearing about a new facility for individuals with disabilities but then nothing seemed to come of it. Then, several years after I had graduated, I found that New Hope had finally opened and not only was there an OT position available but the person I had gone to school with oversaw the OT department. My first day was very interesting. New Hope was getting ready to open two new wings – I spent...
