Every summer, something special happens at New Hope of Indiana. Kids ages 9 to 13 come together—some with disabilities, some without—to learn, play, grow, and build friendships that last far beyond the week. This magical experience is Camp Catalyst, and registration for the 2026 session is officially open! (Register here!)

Launched in 2022, Camp Catalyst was created with a simple but powerful mission: to give kids a place where everyone belongs. It’s a camp designed not only for fun (and there is plenty of that!) but also for connection. One camper described the experience perfectly:

“Emerson’s voice is like getting a hug. Manny is cool and competitive and fun to hang around. Atlas just makes me feel calm, and I like hanging out with him—he makes me happy. You know, people with disabilities are just people—there’s no big deal about it. We’re all good for all kinds of things.”

These are the moments that define Camp Catalyst—kids discovering common ground, celebrating differences, and building a community where everyone is valued.

This year’s camp promises a full week of activities that spark creativity, curiosity, and connection. Campers will dive into:

• Games and team challenges

• Crafts and jewelry-making

• Science experiments

• Sports and outdoor fun

• Music, dancing, and movement

• And so much more!

Every day brings new opportunities to try something different, meet new friends, and discover strengths—both individually and as a group.

Behind every great camp is a team of caring volunteers who help bring the experience to life. Camp Catalyst is now accepting volunteer applications for Summer 2026, and we’re looking for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact.

Whether you’re a high school student, college student, educator, community member, or simply someone who believes in inclusion, volunteering at Camp Catalyst is a rewarding way to spend a summer week.

Volunteers will:

• Support campers during activities;

• Assist with crafts, games, science projects, and sports;

• Encourage positive peer interactions;

• Help create a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment; and

• Bring energy, compassion, and enthusiasm each day.
