For more than three decades, the compassionate associates and volunteers from Ascension St. Vincent have been a cornerstone of holiday magic for the individuals served by New Hope of Indiana. Through the heartfelt Hope for the Holidays program, they step up every December to ensure that no one goes without a gift during the most wonderful time of the year.

This cherished tradition gives St. Vincent associates and volunteers the chance to personally sponsor individuals who might otherwise not receive holiday presents. It’s more than just gift-giving—it’s about connection, dignity, and reminding every person that they are seen, valued, and celebrated.

This past holiday season was no exception. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Ascension St. Vincent’s team, more than 68 individuals supported by New Hope received thoughtful gifts tailored just for them. Among those were several new participants who experienced the warmth of this program for the very first time—a truly special milestone that expanded the circle of holiday joy even further.

The impact of these efforts goes far beyond the wrapping paper and bows. For many of the individuals we serve, these gifts and the kindness behind them bring smiles, excitement, and a profound sense of belonging during the holidays.

And the caring doesn’t stop when the decorations come down! Throughout the entire year, Hope for the Holidays volunteers continue spreading cheer by sending birthday cards accompanied by gift cards, ensuring that every birthday is celebrated with the same thoughtfulness and love.
