12 Sep Service Spotlight: Blessing Ugwuanyi
Blessing wakes up with a beautiful smile on her face, because she loves to come to work in the Day Services Program at the Payne Road facility. She has been New Hope almost four years and has enjoyed every minute of her time here. As with all of the DSPs being highlighted for DSP Recognition Week, Blessing receives much joy in her support of and interactions with the individuals she serves, such as helping with the client choir and all the many special activities in day services.
She also feels a strong sense of teamwork with her co-workers within the Day Services team. A favorite memory for Blessing was the celebration of the Nigerian Independence Day several years ago. She and several of her co-workers dressed in their traditional clothing, made some Nigerian treats and shared about their culture, which was enjoyed by clients and associates. That was a very special and memorable day for Blessing.
Blessing is happily married and has two daughters and one son. While she is very busy with work and her family, she finds time for her passion; singing. She also enjoys going out with family and friends.
Thanks to Blessing, whose name fits what she is to New Hope: a blessing!
