Bingo is Back!

25 Feb Bingo is Back!

For over twenty years, Kiwanis has sponsored a monthly Bingo night for individuals served by New Hope of Indiana. The North Central Kiwanis Club started and coordinated Bingo for most of those years, and New Hope is so appreciative of their dedication. Thankfully, when that club decided to dissolve their chapter, another club, Northwest Indy Kiwanis graciously offered to sponsor Bingo night so that this favorite New Hope monthly activity could continue. This club also has long-time involvement with New Hope and provided an annual cookout for the group home program for many years. Club member John Bloom even served on New Hope’s Board of Directors, most recently serving as Vice Chair. He recently left the Board after three dedicated terms.

Club member Laura Noblitt coordinates Bingo and has a dedicated group of other members who attend each month. She also enjoys helping with the shopping for the Bingo prizes such as jewelry, activity books, markers, CD/DVDs, picture frames, holiday items and more, all of which are readily selected from the prize cart. Kiwanis members assist players with their Bingo cards, write the numbers called on the board and get plenty of exercise going from winner to winner working as the “prize patrol.” Also helping are Cindy T. and Patty C., who do an awesome job calling and keeping track of the Bingo numbers. After a brief break for the holidays, Bingo returned this month on Valentine’s Day, so it was especially festive and fun for all who attended.

Thank you to Northwest Indy Kiwanis for many years of partnership with New Hope and for sponsoring our beloved Bingo!
