What We Offer

New Hope’s Behavior Services program is designed to support individuals who are experiencing, or are likely to experience, challenges accessing and actively participating in the community as a result of behavioral, social or emotional challenges.

Our Behavior Consultants work with children and adults with disabilities to empower them to achieve self-determination, interdependence, integration and inclusion in all facets of community life by leveraging their unique skills and abilities.

Consultants meet with individuals several times a month to help them build their confidence and participate in positive social interactions. The skills individuals develop through these sessions help them become more independent.

Consultants and individuals also go out into the community to practice their positive behavior strategies. For example, individuals may go with their Behavior Consultant to a restaurant to work on etiquette. Consultants also connect individuals served with their peers so they can work on relationship building.

In addition to skill building, our Behavior Consultants can also serve as a liaison between an individual and their psychiatrist.

Our Experience

New Hope started its behavior therapy program in 1978. Our Behavior Consultants are master’s-level clinicians and work hard to ensure individuals reach their unique goals. Additionally, organization-wide, New Hope boasts a dedicated team where 30% of our associates have been employed with us for over 10 years and over 50% have had more than a decade of total experience.

Our Culture

“We are in the people business.” This phrase encapsulates our commitment to creating a caring and inclusive culture where every individual, regardless of ability, is celebrated. The individuals we serve are at the heart of what we do, and our core values—Service, Reverence, Integrity, Inclusivity, Wisdom, Creativity, and Dedication—guide our actions every day.
