22 Dec Ascension St. Vincent Brings Holiday Cheer to New Hope
For over 30 years, associates from Ascension St. Vincent participate in Hope for the Holidays. Through this program, associates have the opportunity to sponsor individuals in need during the holidays. This past year, Ascension St. Vincent associates helped over 50 individuals served by New Hope and their efforts truly made a difference.

Melody is served through New Hope’s group home program and has been served by Hope for the Holidays for many years. For well over five years in a row, Ascension St. Vincent’s Medical ICU department has sponsored her for the holidays.
Throughout the years, Melody has developed a special relationship with her sponsors. Prior to the pandemic, they would take her to Cracker Barrel for a holiday meal. During the meal, everyone would have a great time catching up and Melody would get to open a few of her gifts. Then, her sponsors would leave her with gifts to open on Christmas morning.
Thanks to Ascension St. Vincent’s Hope for the Holidays program, individuals like Melody have gifts to make their Christmas special. This program brings much joy to those we serve. In 2023, they also expanded this program to provide birthday cards to individuals served by New Hope who are in need of assistance. They even include gift cards to spread birthday cheer! The Hope for the Holidays program makes such a positive impact on those we serve. We are grateful for Ascension St. Vincent and all who make this program possible!
