Silver Cup Kickoff Reception

Silver Cup Kickoff Reception

On Thursday, June 13th, we held our Silver Cup Kickoff Reception. This is the second year we have held this pre-Silver Cup event and it was a huge success yet again!

This year’s event was hosted at the home of New Hope volunteer Wendy Goshert. We are so appreciative of her hospitality! Additionally, New Hope Board Member Sheri Alexander provided refreshments and New Hope parent Denise Cook provided desserts. Thank you for helping to make this year’s event a success!

This was an opportunity for us to thank our sponsors who support our Silver Cup Celebration fundraiser and for them to hear first-hand how their generosity is making a positive difference for families in our community.

During the event, we heard from two family members of individuals served by New Hope who shared the positive impact our organization has made in the lives of their loved ones.

First, we heard from Amy Johnson. Amy’s daughter Grace has cerebral palsy and an intellectual disability. Grace moved into a New Hope Supported Living home 6 years ago, and Amy shared how the move has helped her daughter to live her most fulfilling life. “Now Grace has two families: the Johnsons and New Hope!” said Amy. The Johnsons are so happy to see the rich life Grace leads with the support of New Hope.

Next, we heard from Bernie Konrady, whose brother, Jeff, has epilepsy and an intellectual disability. Jeff has been with New Hope since it was founded over 46 years ago. Bernie’s parents chose New Hope when they could no longer care for Jeff and he and his siblings believe that he has been living his best life as a result. “New Hope is a Godsend to this family.” said Bernie.

Thank you to the families who shared their impactful stories and to all who attended this magnificent event! We are grateful to you all and are excited to share more about the impact our organization has made at this year’s Silver Cup Celebration!
