As we enter this beautiful fall season, we all know change is literally in the air.

And there are lots of changes happening at New Hope (all changes for the good, I hope!).  You can see (and feel) these changes when you come to our building.  As I told you  in the spring, Ascension St. Vincent generously donated the entire 8450 Payne Road building and the 14 acres it sits on to New Hope!  Since this transformative gift was made, New Hope has been working with the United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) to make many needed repairs.  Through UWCI matching grants we have:  new doors when you enter both day services and the front door, new ventilation, new lighting, and now new HVAC!  You can see in the picture below the cranes putting the new HVAC on the building.  You can also see that we have demolished the canopy to have better day services traffic flow.

What’s next in this fall season of change?  Lots!  Before the snow falls, look for new concrete in lots of area; cleaning, repairing and tuckpointing; painting the façade of suite 100; and more new doors!  Many of these changes have needed to happen for years – we are just excited and thankful that they can happen now!

We are also working on the silent part of a capital campaign! Shhhhhh!  David Koch, New Hope’s Director of Advancement, would not like it if I start making the silent part public!  But I am so excited about it that I have to share!  New Hope is working to raise $1.5M to be matched by the UWCI’s $1.5M  to do some amazing things at New Hope!  Think…new handicap accessible walking paths, a new commercial kitchen, and maybe something new in the old pool area!  I can’t tell you everything or I would really be in trouble, but just know great things for the individuals we serve are coming!

Do you know that New Hope serves nearly 90 people each day in our building?  We serve 60 people in our traditional day services and nearly 30 in AIM.  What an honor to be part of all of these people’s day, and we truly hope we have a part in supporting them to live their best lives!
