A Note from Allison: New Hope is Always Celebrating

30 Jul A Note from Allison: New Hope is Always Celebrating

I hope everyone is having a great summer!

New Hope had a wonderful day today! One of our big dreams was realized with the ribbon cutting for New Hope’s Cheese and Thank You food truck! Thank you to everyone who had a piece in helping this become a reality. It was a wonderful day with wonderful food! Congratulations to our food truck crew: Richie, Michelle and Eli and their fearless leader, Tim Dunkel, Food Truck Specialist. I want to also give a special shout out to Kathy Ballard, Director of Community Outreach, for keeping the dream of the food truck alive for these last several years. It seemed with every step forward we had a step backward, but she kept walking. The food truck would not have been a reality without a generous anonymous sponsor; Pearson Ford; Kroger and Old National Bank Foundation. We have a great team at New Hope, a great board and great community partners, thank you to you all!

In addition to our sponsors, and our team, Deputy Mayor for Indianapolis, Rev. David Hammond and Duos chef extraordinaire, Becky Hostetter, spoke at the event which had great press coverage.
Also, in attendance were friends from the Bethel United Methodist Church, where our catering kitchen is located. Finding their kitchen was essential to getting the program going.
Did I mention that the macaroni and cheese is wonderful? Every Monday the food truck will be in the parking lot just north of New Hope, you can see where it is on other days by checking out the website and following us on social media (@cheeseandthanks). Please come by and try some!

As exciting as new things are, we are equally excited to continue to serve people who have been with New Hope for long lengths of time! On Monday we celebrated and thanked people that we have served for up to forty years! It is an honor to be able to have that longevity with people because it means that New Hope is their chosen provider and we have earned their confidence. We honored 12 individuals whom we have served for a combined 170 years! Thank you to all of them for letting us serve them all these years!

If you come for macaroni and cheese on a Monday, which I highly recommend, stop in and see what is going on at New Hope. You will not be disappointed! It continues to be a wonderful place with wonderful people. Be sure to stop by my office and say hi.

Have a great rest of your summer! And remember to say, “Cheese and Thank You”!

Allison
