Yes ‘cers!
Wasn’t the Pacers run to the seventh game of the NBA finals so fun for our city? Even though they came up short, we are still proud of them! This Pacers season has also been very fun at New Hope, everyone was into it! July will be a little bit boring without our Yes ‘cers.
Other changes are happening in July at New Hope. We are unfortunately losing two board members: José Lusende and Parker Willis. José has been on the New Hope Board of Directors for nine years. He has served as the Chair of our Development Committee for almost the same amount of time. Under his leadership, New Hope has birthed its development program which has grown exponentially under his leadership. Parker served on the board for three years and also on the Development Committee. During his time on the board, Parker relocated to Florida and has become a dad. He remained loyal to New Hope throughout his move, and we hope he finds an organization like New Hope to support there.
As much as we are sorry to see these board members leave, we are happy to welcome three new board members: Mary Gaughan, Meghan Vogt and Joshua Larsen. Mary is a recently retired attorney who has known New Hope since her early days at Hall Render; Meghan is the VP of Strategic Planning & Execution at OneAmerica and Joshua is a patent attorney at Barnes and Thornburg with a deep interest in the disability community. Thank you all for joining #TeamNewHope.
We are looking forward to this year’s Silver Cup Celebration on August 14, 2025. This year’s theme is “Just Be You”. The kickoff to the Silver Cup Celebration was held on June 2nd at Mary and Bryan Chandler’s home. At that event Board Member, Denise Irons and her daughter Emerson spoke about how special New Hope has been in Emerson’s life since she was nine. Bernie Konrady also spoke about the 47-year relationship the Konrady family has with New Hope as New Hope has served his brother, Jeff, for that many years.
Bernie and Sue Konrady also generously offered a match grant for $12,500 that was easily met by the attendees at the event. What a great kickoff to the Silver Cup! Thank you, Bernie and Sue!
