A Note from Allison: June 2023

27 Jun A Note from Allison: June 2023

Happy summer!

As you can see from this issue, New Hope is already off to a great start of summer fun with our Camp Catalyst! What an enjoyable and energetic week we had here!  I know everyone who participated (including the volunteers) had a great time!  Please remember us next summer when you are thinking about your children’s camp plans. You don’t want to miss it!

One of the best parts of camp is that it is inclusive. Campers with and without disabilities have fun just being kids in this camp.  One of New Hope’s core values is Inclusivity. To New Hope, this core value means that… “We support a culture of inclusivity for our associates and the individuals we serve.  We embrace this culture by: creating an environment where our diverse workforce is represented at all levels of the organization and advocating for social justice in ways that directly impact our associates and individuals we serve.”

June is a great month to support inclusivity!  It is Pride Month, Immigrant Heritage Month and we also celebrate Juneteenth on June 19th. We are proud that New Hope is such an inclusive organization as well as the individuals served and our associates that allow us to be this way!

Speaking of inclusivity, have you had our mac-n-cheese from our food truck yet? Our Cheese and Thank You food truck is the only food truck run by individuals with disabilities in Indiana. It is still as good as it was the first year! You can check here to see where it will be in July, or you can contact us to get the food truck to come to your business. Cheese and Thank You serves the best mac-n-cheese in town on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this summer.  Currently, we are only serving in Marion County but will be serving in Boone and Hamilton Counties shortly.  Hope to see you at the truck this summer!

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July and a great rest of your summer!
