A Note from Allison: January 2024

A Note from Allison: January 2024

Wow!  What a 2024 it has already been!

As you may have heard or read, on Sunday at 12:01 am, The ALTRUIST Group (TAG), another Indianapolis disabilities provider, transitioned its Supported Living Program (waiver) to New Hope! This includes seventeen individuals served and twenty-seven associates.  #TeamNewHope is growing, and we could not be more excited!

New Hope and TAG have been very intentional about this transaction.  Jeanine Coleman, owner of TAG, and I have been discussing this for a year, brought together by a New Hope Board member who thought the organizations might be a good fit.  Our discernment process has been long, but well worth it!  Both organizations wanted to ensure that our mission, culture and values aligned.  Because we are so closely aligned, Jeanine and Monique Ivey, a key leader at TAG, are joining the New Hope team, along with three supervisors and twenty-two DSPs. New Hope is excited to welcome and learn from our new associates while maintaining our current high level of compassionate care.

I want to personally thank so many people who have helped with this project, starting with the New Hope Board of Directors, led by Gretchen Sussman and the New Hope Finance Committee, led by Alan O’Rear.  They provided so much assistance with the analysis of the transaction.  Laura Tomlin, CFO, and our former COO and now consultant, Pete Ratekin, provided important assistance during the due diligence period. Margo Green, HR Director, and her team then stepped in to get all the TAG associates hired and onboarded.  Then, all the work of transitioning clients fell on the mighty shoulders of Cassi Dean, Director of New Hope’s Supported Living  program and Betsy Gorman, new Manager of TAG sites.  Amy Flint has helped extensively with the transition as has Ken Rose, who has helped on so many facets of this deal. Thanks to all of #TeamNewHope who have volunteered to work at new sites and welcome our new individuals and team members, helped get the word out on social media, and organizing and making food for a welcome party.  Thanks also to Kelsie Winters, my amazing assistant, who helped me and everyone else move this project along. Watching this all happen reminds me every day of why #TeamNewHope is so exceptional! THANK YOU ALL!!

Now the fun part begins, combining our cultures, missions and teams and helping everyone THRIVE! I will keep you posted on how everything is going!

Until next month-

Congratulations on the successful transition of The Altruist Group to the New Hope of Indiana family. All of the thoughtful planning, due diligence and people first mentality paid off. Many frontlines and behind the scenes efforts done by many to make this happen. Always proud to be associated with NHI. Keep on THRIVING!!
