28 May A Note from Allison: Cheese and Thank You is Official!
Are you ready for some mac and cheese? I know I am!
Two very exciting things happened last week in the life of Cheese and Thank You, New Hope’s food truck:
1) the food truck and the kitchen where we will be preparing the food passed inspection by the Marion County Health Department, and 2) New Hope hired the food truck coordinator who will be responsible for all things food truck!
A special thanks to Kathy Ballard, Director of Community Outreach Department, who has been working to get the food truck up and running. There have been more steps than you can imagine in this process! A special thanks also to Old Bethel United Methodist Church (and especially to our friend Dee) where we will operate the kitchen for the food truck. They have been wonderful partners for some time, and we could not offer this program without them!
New Hope is looking for volunteers to help transport clients to and from the food truck locations. This is a great way to get to know some of the people we serve by volunteering for a short well-defined amount of time each week and we will not work much of the winter. If you are interested, please contact Kathe Rae at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you in advance!
Our hope is that the food truck will be fully operational by the end of July. We will let you know the official ribbon cutting date and soft opening days when you can buy food here at New Hope. Everyone at New Hope is very excited!
New Hope is also excited to welcome two new board members: Charity Stowe of Hirons & Company and Pam Evans of Star Benefit Associates, Inc. They will join the board in July. New Hope will be losing a long-time board member and advocate for those we serve, Dr. Ken Krueger. Dr. Krueger has served on the board for nine years and will truly be missed. However, he is not going too far. He continues to provide podiatry services to many of the individuals served by New Hope. Thank you, Ken, for your excellent leadership at New Hope of Indiana!
Enjoy your summer!
