Happy Tuesday!

Didn’t you just love the weather last week? I don’t know about you, but beautiful weather in August is such a treat because we are not expecting it! I have lived in my house for 23 years and my August flower garden has never looked better (even with the feasting deer).

Speaking of never better, I think this year’s Silver Cup Celebration was the best ever! Thank you to all who were able to attend! The team, led by Development Director, Jenny Pfeil, and Silver Cup Committee Chair, Denise Irons, did a marvelous job communicating that it takes a community for individuals with disabilities to be successful! A couple of takeaways: 1) Individuals with disabilities are amazing volunteers and employees-hire them; 2) New Hope is a fun place to volunteer individually or with a group-volunteer here; 3) Our food truck, Cheese and Thank You is a great first place to connect with New Hope-let us put you on our calendar – we have just a few dates open in October.

A special thanks to John Pearson and Pearson Ford, who matched all gifts made at the Silver Cup, up to $10,000; Bernie Konrady, and Konrady Plastics, another $10,000 matching gift donor, PNC, and all our other sponsors listed in the wrap up of the event here. With August quickly coming to an end, I want to remind everyone that September 9-13 is DSP week. This is the week we focus on our AMAZING DSPs and thank them for all they do. New Hope would not be the high-quality organization it is without our caring, compassionate and creative DSPs. Please thank them whenever you see them, but please give them a special thank you that week! We are so proud of them and so thankful for all they do to help the individuals we serve and their families Thrive!
