A Note from Allison: August 2023

29 Aug A Note from Allison: August 2023

Happy Tuesday!

I am having a grateful August!  I know it is not a real thing, but it is how I feel so I am just going with it!

I am grateful for the many people and organizations who support New Hope!  As you have read, we had a WONDERFUL Silver Cup Celebration where we honored our New Hope award winners and Dorothy Nowlin-Love who has worked at New Hope for 45 years!  As I said at the event, she must have started here when she was 5!  Congratulations and thank you to our honorees!

Additionally, thank you to the families who shared their very meaningful stories with us at the event. Nancy Fortenberry and her son James, Denise Irons and her daughter Emerson, DeShawn Hale and her son Christian and Bernie Konrady, DG Saladin and Ronnie Verbois and their brother Jeff all shared their experiences with New Hope and the impact our organization has had on them.

The New Hope choir consisting of Patty Cooper, Lori Eichenberger, Robert Hoey III, Eric Lamar, Mike Silver, Nikeita Smith and Cindy Twigg was especially on fire this year! Robert, the choir soloist, sounded marvelous! Special thanks to Musulyn Travers and Blessing Ugwuanyi for their work in prepping the choir for this momentous occasion!

Once again, we would like to thank PNC, Pearson Ford, Konrady Plastics, and all of our other incredible sponsors for helping to make this year’s Silver Cup a success!

I cannot thank Jenny Pfeil, New Hope’s Development Director and Maddie Bulkley, New Hope’s Communications and Engagement Specialist, enough for all their hard work getting the event together.  Denise Irons served as our chair of the event and her and the committee did an amazing job! Thank you to Sheri Alexander, Kathy Ballard, Amanda Boyd, Linda Carroll, Denise Cook, Amy Flint, Ken Haupt, Denise Irons, Amy Johnson, Jennifer Northern, Lucinda Peterson and Kelsie Winters for volunteering your time to be on our Silver Cup committee!

I am so grateful for everyone who came, donated, volunteered, and bid on an item in our silent auction. It really takes a village! I am grateful for the #TeamNewHope village!

I am also looking forward to DSP week where we get to tell our amazing New Hope DSPs how grateful we are for them!  With gratitude August winding down, I wonder what September will bring?

Have a great long weekend!

With Gratitude,

Allison
