A Note from Allison: A New Perspective

24 Nov A Note from Allison: A New Perspective

Happy Thanksgiving, Heartbeat Readers!

As I reflect on the whirlwind year we’ve all experienced, I am quickly realizing that my perspective on gratitude has changed significantly this year. Amid so much change and uncertainty, I have grown more and more thankful for the little things in life and for the people who make it so meaningful. #TeamNewHope has shown tremendous courage, sacrifice, dedication and love this year, and I have never been more proud to be a part of this community. Thank you to all our dedicated associates, loving families and generous friends who continue to make New Hope such a special place. (Check out a special message from our AIMsters with similar Thanksgiving wishes!)

With the predicted second surge in COVID upon us, I also want to say an extra special thank you to our New Hope families, most of whom will not be spending Thanksgiving with their loved one this year. Just as all of us are asked to stay in our family bubble for the holiday we have asked that our New Hope individuals stay in theirs. I am so sorry that this surge has happened right at the holiday! We are so hopeful that because of the sacrifices you are making this year, you will all have the best Thanksgiving ever! Blessings to all of you for your understanding and support, you have all been wonderful and for that I am grateful.

There is no question that this year has been extremely challenging, but I invite you to read about how New Hope has worked through these challenges and adapted to the many changes that 2020 brought in our newly published 2019-2020 Annual Report. There are so many great stories about the individuals we serve, their dedicated caregivers and their loving families. While it’s been a tough year in so many ways, I continue to see the best in people here at New Hope, and I hope that these stories will show you just how much good #TeamNewHope is doing in our community.

As usual, I am extremely thankful for all of you who have supported our efforts and continued to value our mission throughout this year. Thank you for doing your part to protect our most vulnerable neighbors by wearing a mask, washing your hands, staying home when you’re sick, maintaining social distancing. You can continue to support New Hope this holiday season by contributing to our year end fundraising efforts here. Thanks to our Board of Directors, your gift will be matched up to $5,000 this giving season! You can give easily online or send us your donation. On behalf of everyone at New Hope of Indiana, THANK YOU for your generosity this year. We are certainly all in this together!

Stay safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Allison
