The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is reinforcing its commitment to accessibility with dedicated sensory rooms and personalized escort services at Indianapolis International Airport (IND), creating a calmer travel experience for individuals with sensory sensitivities and neurodiverse needs.

In a letter sent to community partners, ADA Resource Coordinator Kimberly Thomas highlighted two thoughtfully designed sensory rooms—one on each concourse. These quiet retreats feature:

• Dimmable lighting
• Tactile elements for sensory engagement
• Sound-absorbing materials
• Comfortable seating for self-regulation

Beyond the rooms, airport staff can arrange curb-to-gate escort services, providing guided, reassuring support for families navigating the terminal.
