A Note From Allison: Happy July!

26 Jul A Note From Allison: Happy July!

Happy July-

I hope you are staying cool in all of this terrible heat!

I first want to congratulate our wonderful New Hope award winners! Gay Murry, DSP of the Year; Kim Hendrix, Group Home DSP of the Year,  Janet Inman, Community Outreach DSP of the year and Amanda Boyd, Champion of the Year!  These women all represent the best of the best in our industry!  Please join me in congratulating them for their outstanding service and dedication to New Hope of Indiana and the individuals and families we serve!

You will be able to congratulate these wonderful associates personally if you plan on coming to New Hope’s Silver Cup Celebration on August 18th.  This event will be filled with celebration as we connect our passion with potential

I am also excited to welcome five new board members to the New Hope board!  Last year, through a change to the by-laws, New Hope grew its board to seventeen members, and we are thrilled to welcome:  Audra Blasdel, VP of Operations, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis; Devin Moore, President, Moore Surety Bonds Agency; Alan O’Rear, Sr. VP, Sr. Client Advisor and Market Leader, Old National Bank; Bill Stinson, Sr. Director of Public Affairs, Indianapolis Airport Authority; Parker Willis, Risk Specialist, McGowan Insurance. New Hope also wants to thank three members who are going off the board:  Ron Mead; Pam Evans; and Charity Stowe.

Finally, many of you may not know that I am a lawyer by training and spent many years as a healthcare lobbyist both federally and at the Indiana General Assembly.  With everything going on in both capitals I am very happy to be out of that business and into the New Hope business.  I say this only because I am extremely proud of one piece of legislation that really has changed the lives of so many New Hope serves.  This month, we celebrate the passing of The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), signed into law 32 years ago. The ADA is one of our country’s most comprehensive pieces of civil rights legislation that prohibits discrimination and guarantees that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else. Disability rights are human rights and New Hope is proud of our ongoing commitment to equal rights and justice for all.

We look forward to celebrating all we have achieved and what our future holds on August 18th at our Silver Cup Celebration!  I look forward to seeing you there!

Allison

Thank you to all New Hope DSP staff. Especially those dedicated, hard working, caring staff at the Jacob’s Home, where my son lives. They take care of residents like they are family!! Thank you for ALL you do!!
