A Note from Allison: We Love our DSPs!

24 Sep A Note from Allison: We Love our DSPs!

Happy Tuesday!

If you drove by New Hope the week before last you saw the sign “We ❤ our DSPs!” and at New Hope, we certainly do! September 8-14 was National Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, where we pause to take an extra minute to thank the heart and sole of all service providers – our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). These are the folks that provide 24/7 service to the individuals entrusted to New Hope. The support provided is really awe inspiring: from friendship, love and a feeling of home to assistance with activities of daily living, transportation, general behavior support, cooking and cleaning. DSPs do so much! Thank you!

At New Hope, all our associates do so much. Directors, Managers, Team Leaders, therapists, vocational services associates, case managers and all our Payne Road team. Thanks to all of them as well! Without this great group of associates, New Hope would not be the excellent provider that it is!

In recognition of our wonderful associates, the New Hope Vision Statement was recently updated to include the below emphasized statement:

“New Hope of Indiana will thrive as a mission-driven organization, living our core values and providing holistic services to persons with disabilities and those in need of support. We will be recognized as a community resource and a strong advocate in Indiana for persons with disabilities and their families. We will expand services offered to people of all ages to build a more inclusive community where all are welcomed, valued and living their best life. We will recognize our associates for their unwavering commitment to service every day and we will commit to provide them with resources to be successful both personally and professionally.”

Please help us recognize our associates for their commitment any time you have a chance. Thank you!

Finally, I hope to see you all at New Hope’s “Friend-raiser,” Let’s Get Cheesy, on Thursday, October 3rd! Please bring a friend you would like to introduce to New Hope. Our food truck will be serving our now world famous (yes, we were in a German magazine!) macaroni and cheese. We will have beer from Sun King and wine, too. This is just a casual evening of friends and donors of New Hope to introduce us to new friends. We hope you can come! If you are planning to attend and have not registered, you can register online. We don’t want to run out of mac-n-cheese!

Enjoy this late summer!

Allison
